My primary research interests are in the areas of public health and health & cultural psychology. More specifically, I am interested in the epidemiology of infectious/chronic disease and injury, psychosocial treatments for chronic disease, global health, ethnic disparities in health care, and stereotyping. I am currently working on my thesis which will explore how the sexual orientation and gender of HIV positive individuals and the perceived controllability of the disease influences stigmatization. |

I am from Glenside PA and got my undergraduate degree from La Salle University in Philadelphia. I am interested in health psychology and the area of public health. Specifically I am interested in the effect that life threatening illnesses or injury's have on the person and their families. I am also interested in how stress plays a role in a person's health. My thesis looked at stigma placed in HIV positive individuals. My goal was to better understand what factors are involved in the stigmatization of HIV positive individuals. I plan on getting a PhD in either Clinical Psychology-Health Psychology or Public Health. |
